If you have an online store on Shopify and want to use your own domain (for example yourdomain.com), you need to configure two DNS records in cPanel so your domain points to Shopify's servers.
ℹ️ Note: This guide applies when your domain is registered or managed at Webzi and your website is hosted on Shopify. If your hosting is also at Webzi, you do not need to make these changes.
https://yourdomain.com/cpanel).This record connects your main domain (yourdomain.com) to Shopify's IP address. Find the existing A record and edit it with the following values:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | A |
| Name | @ or yourdomain.com |
| Value / Points to | 23.227.38.65 |
| TTL | 120 (or the default value) |
This record ensures that www.yourdomain.com also points to Shopify. Find the www CNAME record and edit it:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | CNAME |
| Name | www |
| Value / Points to | shops.myshopify.com |
| TTL | 120 (or the default value) |
Once the DNS records are configured in cPanel, you need to add the domain in your Shopify admin panel to complete the connection:
yourdomain.com) and click Next. You can check Shopify's official guide here: Connect your external domain to Shopify manually.
DNS record changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to propagate globally. During this period, it is normal for the domain to work intermittently.
| Type | Name | Value | TTL |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | @ or yourdomain.com | 23.227.38.65 |
120 |
| CNAME | www | shops.myshopify.com |
120 |
